A relatively new official neighbourhood of the City of Vancouver. The neighbourhood is dominated by high-rise office and apartment buildings. The six floating homes in Coal Harbour, along with the twelve in False Creek, are the only legal floating homes in the city of Vancouver.
This one time industrial area complete with railway yards, float plane terminals, and parking lots, has been magnificently transformed into an upscale high rise condominium district with spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains. While mainly a residential area, there are a few office towers and businesses that blend in nicely with the surroundings. Coal Harbour Community Centre is one of the most exceptional community centres in downtown Vancouver.
Coal Harbour is a gateway to the World Famous Stanley Park and Aquarium . Did you know, Stanley park is more than 10% larger than New York City's Central Park?
